Sleepy and lavender dreams...

I've spent way too much time thinking about what my first review should be. Something from the bath range, since i soak my butt and soul for ages now? Perfumes? Something from the innovative make up line? Lush is most famous for it's bath bombs ofc, and then bubble bars and all the soaps and shower miracles (we'll get to all of them with a time ;) ... and in the waves of bestsellers and hidden gems there is a product which gets into hearts even of those who think they wouldn't like it at all. First product here and my absolute fav this year is a body and hand lotion named Sleepy. It came as a part of limited Christmas range 2016. and it was supposed to go after holidays but demand for this gem made Lush to just keep it as an whole year product. So what's that magical and good in Sleepy? Ingredients like fair trade organic cocoa and illipe butters mixed with also, highly nourishing almond oil, lavender oil and ylang ylang oil make extremely nourishing base... add some soothing oat milk, lavender flower infusion and benzoin resinoid and you gonna get most soothing, calming combination ever. Lavender in Sleepy is in a 3 form - an oil, water and infusion... and also gives it specific calming scent. There are at least 47 species of lavender, ancient Egyptian used it for a cosmetics, healing and as a massage oil. Ancient Greek would soak their feet every morning so that lavender scent would go through their body whole day, while ancient Roman used it in a cosmetic purposes but even more for healing wounds and migraines. I'd say ancient ppl loved their lavender. To round it up with soothing effect there is also a loads of oat milk. In a regular cereal form, oat is great exfoliant but her it's in infusion/milk, which makes it fantastic for soothing and anti-inflammatory effect, it calms itchiness and dry skin all together.

 

In Sleepy lotion there is also ingredient called tonka absolute. This magical bean is used in entire Twilight scent family, from subtle undertones in perfumes like Vanillary and All Good Things to the bath bombs like The Big Sleep and April Showers, tonka gives this gorgeous, sweet scent which is just adorable and subtle all the way. One of the key reasons lavender in this lotion isn't overwhelming lies in proper use of tonka absolute. Like i've mentioned - fair trade organic coco butter and organic illipe butter are here to give moisture and feed the dry skin. Coco butter is natural emulsifier and it has ability to self preserve, which means it keeps bacteria away. It hydrates and creates protecting barrier on the skin. Illipe butter gives moisture, heals and bring back flexibility of the skin. Illipe butter is consider one of the most nourishing in the butter family. Considering how much oils and butters go into this lotion you would think it is heavy in consistency but nah, Sleepy is almost viscose, light weight and easy to apply. Skin drinks it up in few short moments. It's easy to apply and spread which means you need just a tiny bit of product, that's huge ass plus because Sleepy price is a bit high for the Croatian points. 95g pot is around 99hrk while 215g is 189hrk. You don't need that much so it kinda evens out considering the price, but still in UK same amount (when converted) is around 74hrk and 132hrk, that's 25 and almos 67hrk difference. Is it worth it tho? Price is higher yes, but effect goes a long way. Interwebz is full of reviews saying how Sleepy range helped ppl relax, sleep and feel good all together. As an insomniac i can't tell if it helps me magically sleep whole night, but it did wonders for my dry skin and that sweet floral-lavender scent helps a lot to relax and get into chill mood. 

It's also good to know that Sleepy is a vegan product... and if you like the scent you can get more stuff with it, like Twilight bath bomb (200g/41hrk), Twilight body spray (200ml/190hrk) or Twilight shower jelly (100g and 240g - 66/132hrk). During holidays there is always something extra like upcoming Mother's Day which will bring Baa bar bubble bar (100g/54hrk) and reusable bubble bar Mum In A Spin (100g/59hrk). No matter do you consider Sleepy as a miracle lotion that will help you sleep, get rid of anxiety and blues, or just nice smelling lotion which heals and hydrates.... for me it's totally worth the hype and the bucks.
